After much suspense, Nintendo revealed Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club for the Nintendo Switch. The release will be on August 29th. In addition to the digital version, physical editions are on the way.
For North America and Europe, standard physical editions have been confirmed, while Japan will also receive a collector's edition that includes an Emio paper bag, art book, and soundtrack.
Famicom Detective Club is a series of text adventures originally developed for the Famicom in the 1980s. Both Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind received re-releases for the Nintendo Switch, developed by Mages.
In this newest chapter that arrives after more than 30 years since the originals, the player will investigate the figure of Emio, a smiling man who is rumored to offer a paper bag with a smile drawn on it to crying girls, but in return takes their lives.
